Qatar Airways has been named Airline of the Year at the 2021 Skytrax awards.
The national carrier is now the first to take home the prestigious gong six times – in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and now 2021.
Unsurprisingly (for anyone that’s been lucky enough to fly Qatar Airways), it wasn’t the only award of the night, either.
Qatar Airways was also named as being home to the world’s best business class, and the world’s best business class seat – the patented Qsuite. Those are some seriously happy backsides, eh.
Airline food might be widely derided for being terrible, but not so for those travelling on Qatar Airways, as it also took home the world’s best business class onboard catering award.

Finally, the airline was also named the airline of the year in the Middle East.
This year’s Skytrax awards covered the travel period between September 2019 and July 2021, in a bid to reflect a mix of more travel times combined with travel during the pandemic.
The news comes after Hamad International Airport took home the top gong at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2021.
Alongside being named the best airport in the world, HIA was given the titles of best airport in the Middle East, best airport with 25 to 35 million passengers, and best airport staff in the Middle East.
