Egypt has reopened its airspace to Qatari aircraft, the Civil Aviation Authority has announced.
The move comes after Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain reopened their airspace, land and sea borders in the past week following the 41st GCC Summit in al-Ula on January 5. All four countries signed the Al-Ula agreement at the summit.
Qatar Airways has already resumed daily flights to Riyadh, and flights to Jeddah and Dammam will restart later this week.
There has been no announcement about when flights will resume between the UAE and Doha, but Qatar Airways has said it is in “close contact with the relevant authorities for the resumption of the scheduled flights”.
