Qatar Airways to launch flights to San Francisco in December

There will be four weekly flights

Qatar Airways is set to launch flights to San Francisco in December, becoming the first Middle Eastern airline to serve the US destination.

From December 15, the carrier will run four weekly flights to and from the city in northern California.

It is the first time Qatar Airways has run flights to the tech hub, and comes after it launched direct flights to another new destination, Accra in Ghana, last month.

Qatar Airways group chief executive, HE Akbar al-Baker, said, “As the gateway to Silicon Valley and the vibrant tech economy, the San Francisco Bay Area is a globally important destination, both from a business and leisure perspective.

“We are excited as we launch this new destination making it easier for our passengers to reunite with their loved ones, having taken more than 220,000 Americans home to the US via scheduled and chartered flights amidst the pandemic.”

Qatar Airways has also extended its flexible booking policy until the end of December, meaning you can change your date and destination as necessary without fees.
