Qatar's hotel quarantine requirement extended until October 31

Qatar’s hotel quarantine requirement for travellers arriving from a medium or high-risk country has been extended until October 31, it has been announced.

Discover Qatar is now allowing passengers to book seven or 14 night stays in three, four or five-star hotels after they arrive in the country up until the end of October.

Currently, only those arriving from a low-risk country can quarantine at their own home for a week after arriving.

The low-risk country list, which was recently expanded, has 41 countries on it, including the UK, Japan and Uruguay.

Citizens and residents have been allowed to travel in and out of the country since August 1.

Travellers from low-risk countries must provide a negative COVID-19 test dated within 48 hours of arrival, or take a test on arrival. They will also be tested again after six days before being allowed to stop quarantining.

Residents stranded abroad can apply to come back through the Exceptional Entry Permit to Qatar section of the Qatar Portal website.
