In a new regular series, we're asking the movers and shakers from the Doha F&B and hospitality industry to find out what five things are keeping them going during the lockdown.
Lavanya Kumar, marketing and communications manager at InterContinental Doha The City tells us what she’s doing at home.
Three things you’re enjoying doing at home right now
Catching up on all the books in my to-read pile which I’ve ignored for way too long. I just finished the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews, which was brilliant, and now I’m moving on to Lies Sleeping (from the Rivers of London series) by Ben Aaronovitch.
Cooking and baking, especially trying new recipes. I recently tried making chocolate chip cookies, and since I had no chips I cut up a chocolate bar instead. All I can say is I’m never going to bother with chocolate chips again.
Playing all the video games I usually don’t have time for. I recently started playing The Witcher 3 (still not over The Witcher on Netflix) and I’m already spending way too many hours in a day trying to accomplish all the quests and slaying all the monsters.
Your favourite place to order home delivery from
Definitely the wings from Lord of the Wings. Their spicy garlic parmesan and buffalo wings always have me drooling. Qokio is also a new favourite – love their Korean fried chicken.
The first thing you’re looking forward to doing in Doha when this is all over
I’m looking forward to being outdoors and seeing my friends again. But first things first, I’m going for a chapatti and karak at Katara.
