All Doha public parks and beaches reopening from July 1

All public parks in Doha and Qatar will reopen today (Wednesday July 1), however kids' play parks will remain closed.

The news was announced in a tweet from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).

Any visitors to the parks need to follow the government's safety guidelines, which include using the Ehteraz app, having a body temperature check, keeping a safe distance from others and following general hygiene practices.

All parks have had extra maintenance, cleaning and sanitisation ahead of the openings.

Al Farkeh beach is also open and has access to a mosque, toilets and sunshades. The same has happened at Al Warkra beach, Al Shamal Corniche, Al Ghariya beach, Al Maroona beach, Al Jessasiah beach, Abu Dhalouf beach and Fuwairit beach.

The MME has urged people to clean up after themselves in a tweet, that said:

“The MME, represented by the General Cleanliness Department, conducts intensive and periodic campaigns to clean up all the beaches of Qatar and preserve its beauty and cleanliness. We request all beachgoers to maintain their cleanliness by using the litter bins placed there."
