Three new parks in Qatar have opened

Going out in Doha is our favourite thing to do this month, especially with so many things to do in the country. There are plenty of green spaces and outdoor spots to check out and we’re adding three more to that list.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy has just opened three new public parks on the occasion of the Qatar National Sports Day 2020 on February 11.

The parks are located at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah and Onaiza near West Bay, the location of the former Al Ersal Station training sites cluster.

The new parks are open to everyone and feature tennis and basketball courts, jogging and cycling tracks, open-air gyms and workout spaces and children’s play areas.

The Al Bayt Park is beautifully landscaped and covers a massive area of 944,000 sq m. There is a beautiful artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery and plenty of trees. There are six new restaurants and more than ten cafés so you can make an entire day of it. Check out the barbecue kiosk, too, while you’re there.

That’s a few weekends sorted then.
