Things to do in Doha: Try the new seafood night at Dusit Doha

We know you’re always wondering what to do on a Thursday night in Doha. If you’re a seafood lover, or just a regular foodie who appreciates some fresh catch, you’ll love the brand-new seafood night at Dusit Doha Hotel.

Available every Thursday from 6.30pm until 10pm and priced at QR200 per person with soft drinks or QR295 per person with house beverages, the seafood buffet features plenty of seafood creations from ceviche to sushi, plus a wide range of traditional dishes and a fresh peel-and-eat counter where you can enjoy their pick of the catch.

A healthy station features delicious options such as a lobster salad with parmesan and aromatic croutons, Caesar-dressed prawns panzanella with tomatoes, sweet onions, fresh basil and white balsamic and our favourite Alaskan crab and shrimp with orange powder, artichoke and arugula.

It’s fine if you don’t want to overdo the healthy food, there’s a Fried & Eat zone where you can grab some calamari, shrimp tempura, fish and chips and plenty more.

For some real fresh fish, head over to the Catch of the Day station to find local prize catches of baby red hammour, red snapper and the popular Sultan Ibrahim.

Of course, there’s sushi, too. The roll-on sushi counter has nigiris, makis and sashimi, as well as salmon, tuna, yellowtail and California rolls.

At the ceviche station, hamachi, tuna carpaccio and sashimi are the stars. The caviar with blinis adds a touch of sophistication at the blini station.

If you’re around the peel-and-eat counter, you’ll find a medley of oysters on half-shells, poached shrimp, Alaskan king crab leg, chilled Maine lobster, local blue crabs and steamed green mussels.

You can also choose from five main dishes including sea bass, pan-seared hammour, baked salmon and kingfish fillets, rock shrimp and grilled shrimp served with rice and crunchy cooked vegetables.

End the night with something sweet from nine impressive selections of desserts including a traditional Umm Ali.
QR200 (soft drinks), QR295 (selected beverages). Thu 6.30pm-10.30pm. Taste, Dusit Doha Hotel, West Bay (4004 4444).
