There are plenty of fun things to do in Doha, so why not try something a bit more serious?
The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) is hosting a family policy symposium on child wellbeing in Qatar on Wednesday October 2.
The event will take place at Qatar National Convention Centre and is open to the public.
The symposium aims to promote better understanding of children's physical, psychological, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual and cultural wellbeing to practitioners, researchers and policy makers at a national, regional and global level.
The event will explore policies and programmes that address a range of aspects, including early childhood, child development, safety, social relationships, psychological and cognitive wellbeing, empowerment and agency, as well as their synergy in examining the wellbeing of children.
DIFI has conducted several seminars and activities in the past centred on parenting and child wellbeing and development.
DIFI will present its study on child wellbeing in the Gulf during the event. The topics covered on the day will focus on child wellbeing at school, child health and protection from abuse and neglect, as well as the associated challenges.
Besides presentation of the study, there will be talks by various people from the industry and panel sessions.
Free. Open to public. Registration starts 8am. QNCC, Al Luqta Street, www.difi.org.qa
