These are the top spots for al fresco dining in the city

The best outdoor restaurants in Doha

Winter is almost here and as the temperatures drop in Doha, it’s time to turn your attention to the great outdoors. The chilly malls, multiplexes and indoor bars have all served us well, but now we’re comfortably stepping outside.

From beautiful rooftop bars and cute restaurant terraces to free beaches and lush green spaces, there’s something truly magical about being outdoors in Doha for the next few months.

So don’t dally indoors, the best of Doha is all out there, just waiting to be discovered.

ALFRESCO DINING
These are Doha’s best outdoor restaurants and terraces. Expect a cool breeze and delicious dinners.

Al Mourjan
With the beautiful West Bay as a backdrop and excellent Lebanese fare, Al Mourjan on the Corniche is the best place you can eat at during the cooler months. Pick a table by the seaside – you’ll be barely two steps away from the lightly splashing waves. If you’re looking for a top dining experience in Doha, this is it.
Corniche (4483 4423).

Chef’s Garden
Chef’s Garden features lush green landscapes and we think it’s best enjoyed with a light lunchtime meal. It’s away from all the city noise and pollution and serves up plenty of healthy dishes. Relax and soak up the greenery, you know you don’t get the chance around here very often.
Education City (4409 5041).

Damasca One
Get in the middle of all the Souq action at this vibrant Arabic restaurant. From the fast and superb service, to the chic interiors and live entertainment, there’s plenty to love here. Plus, there’s no better place for some
people watching.
Souq Waqif (4475 9089).

La Veranda

If pesto pasta and a sea breeze sound like a dream, La Veranda is where you need to be tonight. Try some classic Italian fare in this simple set-up. The outdoor dining area makes for a top-notch al fresco experience. Thank us later.
Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, West Bay (4485 4444).

Lo Spaghetto
There aren’t many places in Doha that boast flowers in the outdoor terrace, which is why we love this spot. Lo Spaghetto is what bougainvillea dreams are made of, and there are authentic and delicious Italian dishes. The simpler your order, the tastier your dish.
Al Nasr (4434 1601).

Mamig, Katara Cultural Village
This Armenian-Lebanese restaurant has rustic wooden benches, a terrace with good views, and beautiful fountains in a stunning outdoor setting. The menu is elaborate, the flavours are top-notch and the food is some of the town’s tastiest. Be sure to walk around the Corniche once you’re done.
Katara Cultural Village (4444 0060).

Mykonos

The best place in Doha to soak up some Hellenic vibes is right here. The live bouzouki band, the mouthwatering souvlaki and the traditional desserts all make this the most authentic Greek experience in town.
InterContinental Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4484 4444).

Q-Lounge
Q-Lounge boasts an incredible location with its floating platform and sea views. There’s plenty of Indian fusion food to try on the menu. Make sure you get here before sunset to really experience some unrivalled alfresco dining as you watch the transition to night.
Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, Banana Island (4040 5050).

Reem Al Bawadi
In the winters, the restaurant fully retracts the roof and you can actually hear the sound of the waves hitting the shore right next to you. Order a tray of appetisers and some mixed grills for an authentic Middle Eastern experience.
Hilton Doha, West Bay (4423 3333).

Walima
Marcel Wander’s distinct design elements prevail in Walima’s whimsical and wonderful outdoor terrace with striking views. Large porcelain pots, white cabanas, and lush plants – you have to see it to believe how beautiful this spot is. Have your dinner here (try the Qatar-Mediterranean fusion bites) or just enjoy a few drinks. You won’t regret it.
Mondrian Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4045 5555).
