7 top YouTube workouts to try at home in Doha

Get your sweat on

If 2020 taught us anything, it was that working out at home can be just as hard as getting your sweat on at the gym. Whether you’re looking to make some #seriousgains, or are just sick of running the same route around the park, these YouTube workouts are set to spice up your routine.

Stay healthy and stay safe, Qatar.

Blogilates

There’s a common misconception that pilates is an easy workout, but if you try Blogilates’ YouTube videos out, you’ll soon be proven wrong. While you might not be lifting heavy weights, or even moving that much, these tiny movements are absolutely killer. Cassey Ho will have you screaming about how much you hate walnut crushers in no time at all. Plus, if you head over to Ho’s website, blogilates.com, there’s both a beginners and a monthly calendar for those with more experience, so you never have to worry about choosing a video again.

Chloe Ting

If you’re looking to challenge yourself this month, you can’t go far wrong with Chloe Ting. The Australian YouTuber has dozens of challenges on her website, ranging from 14 days up to eight weeks, each of which focuses on topics such as getting a flat tummy and targeting your core. These workouts are no joke, even without using any equipment.

Fitness Blender

Already got a kitted out home gym? Fitness Blender is a great option for you, as lots of the workouts involve weights or other equipment such as a skipping rope or resistance bands. The videos are great for beginners, too, as they demonstrate each move from different angles before you start. As a bonus, this is one of the rare YouTube channels where your instructor actually breaks a sweat and gets out of breath, which makes you feel slightly less awful about being unable to do yet another burpee.

HASfit

Heart And Soul Fitness, or HASfit, is another great option for those who already have equipment. The channel has an unbelievable amount of videos, with different workout types including high intensity interval training, muscle building, low impact, and weight training for strength. There are workout programmes on the HASfit website, but you’ll have to pay extra to access them.

Pamela Reif

We don’t know about you, but over-the-top cheery workout instructors can get real annoying, real fast. No, we’re not doing a good job – we gave up on that plank after ten seconds, and now we’re just panting on the floor waiting for you to move on to something less difficult. The great thing about Pamela Reif is that many of her videos feature no talking at all – she demonstrates the move, and then you get on with it, all while listening to some great music. It’s no wonder she’s such a hit.

PopSugar Fitness

Want to burn calories, and fast? Then PopSugar Fitness is where you need to be. The cardio workouts will get your heart rate up in no time, and you’ll be having a blast if you try out the dance fitness ones. We also love that each of the videos features multiple trainers working out at different intensities, meaning those who need modifications (or want to up their game) can follow along without missing out on an excellent burn.

Yoga with Adriene

If there’s one YouTuber that won 2020, it’s definitely Yoga with Adriene. Around the world, people turned to her 30-day beginners yoga challenge to de-stress, get a workout in, and, by the end, work out what day it was. Her soothing voice, and the oh-so-cute Benji, never fail to put us in a good mood, even when we find ourselves in boat pose for way too long. You can follow a challenge or choose a video at random – personally, we’re big fans of ‘yoga for when you feel dead inside’.
