FINA airweave Swimming World Cup in Doha

Here’s what you need to know about FINA airweave Swimming World Cup in Doha

The weather is just getting better and we cannot be more excited about pool season. Sunny afternoon skies and chilled waters to dip into sounds like the perfect thing to do on a weekend. And, if you’re aquaphobic, we have just the thing. The fifth round of the FINA airweave Swimming World Cup is taking place in Doha this year, and it is something to catch.

The swimming World Cup this year includes eight rounds, with participants competing in 23 individual competitions and two mixed-race competitions. The first place in each race will earn a USD 1,500 prize. The second place will win USD 1,000 and the third USD 500. There’s a special prize too, for an exceptional swimmer who breaks the new world record, a whopping USD 10,000. If you stay glued to the competition in Doha, you might actually watch that happen and be a part of swimming history.

We’re also excited to watch the Qatar national team swim for the win. According to the Qatar Swimming Federation, the national team started their preparations pretty early and they’re keen to compete against international swimmers in the Doha round. After Doha, the swimmers will head to Beijing for the sixth round.

We’re excited already, and with all that splash, you might just be tempted to jump in yourself. But, obviously, don’t.
