One of the best things about living in Qatar is the weather, which we love to take advantage of while catching a tan and swimming in the sea.
And if you’re looking for another way to enjoy the great outdoors, we might just have the activity for you.
Sailing is a sport you can enjoy your entire lifetime and undeniably an impressive skill to have under your belt.
If you’ve never thought about taking it up, now is the perfect time, as QATAR SAILS is restarting its learn to sail courses.
On the course you will learn everything from essential knots and nautical terminology to sails shapes, trimming and handling, as well as boat handling and speed control.
By the end, you’ll be able to sail a Colgate 26 - the preferred vessel of both the United States Coast Guard Academy and the United States Naval Academy - without a trainer on board.
Courses need a minimum of three trainees to start, so you should sign up today by emailing email@example.com if you want to take part.
Plus, if you gather a few of your friends, you can learn your new skill together and take part in private classes.
Planning on learning alongside your family? Teens can join you on the learn to sail course for a special rate, too.
Already know your way around a boat? QATAR SAILS, which is based out of Ras Al Nasa Fishing Point, offers a number of other sailing courses, too.
These include performancing sailing, where you’ll learn to master the art of flying a spinnaker downwind, fine tuning adjustments of all sails control lines for the given wind and sea conditions and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
And if you haven’t sailed in a while, you can join a refresher course, where you’ll restore your skills on the water to become a competent skipper again.
Leave the streets of Doha far behind and join QATAR SAILS.
