Perched above the Venice-like canals of the Villaggio Mall, this Chinese restaurant affords views of gondoliers, bored shop assistants and the gently domed ceiling (painted to resemble the skyabove. You’ll need all the distractions you can get because the food here is teetering on the edge of abysmal. The menu purports to be ‘nutritionally balanced’ but there’s nothing remotely nutritious about the deep-fried, oil-drowned offerings here. If you must dine here, play it safe and opt for a hot pot, which allows you to cook noodles, meat and vegetables from your own stove. That way, the only person responsible for a lousy meal is you.
