A pan Asian luxury diner set in the scenic Al Hazm Mall

Time Out Says

Pan Asian Eatery Ridge is yet another luxury dining offering at Al Hazm Mall. Should you choose to sit inside, you’ll admire how well done the restaurant is from its suede seating to the gold bars on marble walls, which may be a little over the top, but still remain very tasteful.

We pick a crab salad from the gold-embossed menu which tastes like every other excellent crab salad in the city. The spicy salmon maki rolls, however, are superior in taste and presentation. The food is served on covetable ceramics but in contradiction, those ceramics are never changed in between courses. The mushroom truffle rice and black pepper tenderloin for mains are incredibly delicious. We’re slightly disappointed with the quantity of the rice but the taste more than makes up for it. The tenderloin is a pleasant surprise with its small stab of spice and overall juiciness. Halfway through our mains we realise there are no serviettes on the table even. On request, we get some non-luxury tissues. The highlight here are the beverages served in the most unique containers. One of them is a delightful floral drink in an actual flower pot, with fresh flowers on top.

Ridge isn’t particularly the glowing beacon of Doha’s culinary diversity and quality, but if it irons out a few minor crinkles, it could be high up there competing with some of its five-star counterparts.
