Time Out Says
Nonna Zanon is the type of place you’ve probably driven past a hundred times and not given a second thought. Next time, give it a try.
We’re here on a weekday lunchtime and there are a handful of other diners coming and going, no doubt making a visit on their lunch break. It’s not difficult to see why, the set menu is great value (under QR100) and the service is speedy (you’ll be out in under an hour). The service is also extremely charming. There are warm welcomes for everyone and the staff know their way around the menu.
While none of the dishes are knock-your-socks off brilliant, there’s some good, honest cooking going on here from a kitchen that keeps things on the rustic and recognisable end of the Italian spectrum.
Try the aubergine parmigiana, any of the risottos (but especially the taleggio one), or pizzas and you won’t go far wrong here.
Simple. Understated. Casual. Just how we like it.
The bottom line
Enjoyable food with lovely staff.
