Time Out Says
Our food choices turn out to be a medley of culinary disappointments; a chicken salad that reminds us of something we’d quickly whip up when the groceries run out, a watery beef sausage dish and a prawn risotto that tastes flat (except for overwhelming amounts of saffron). The eshdaawa (eggplant rolls stuffed with meat and rice in tomato sauce) is unpretentious and has the right balance of tangy and meaty flavours.
We love that they have a variety of board games and playing cards on every table, and definitely want to come back in the winter months because it seems like the perfect setting – sipping on a piping hot karak amidst colourful outdoor seating, while appreciating the beauty of Qanat Quartier’s picturesque canals.
The bottom line
An intriguing concept that’s still a work in progress in the food department.
