Time Out Says

A firm favourite, it might be slightly pricier than other cheap mezza spots, but it’s worth it. With a plush interior design, they offer variations on delectable themes. Want spicy mutabal as well as regular? Extra garlicky hummus? Kofta with cheese? No problem! It’s almost always packed and we actually need a reservation, even on a weeknight, to get a table. Once we’re seated we realise why: the food is plentiful and delicious, and the service is actually pretty good. The menu is clearly geared at those already familiar with Lebanese food: there aren’t descriptions of what each dish is. Thankfully, the waiters are happy to explain, even when asked to basically detail everything on the menu. Layali is tasty, and earns the right to charge more than other mezza places.
