La Bodega Negra
Time Out Says
We pass by a buzzing bar that looks like the living room. The dining area further impresses. The hacienda-style interiors are intriguing yet cosy with low ceilings, dim lights, lots of woodwork and dark colours.
We jump into the menu and quickly polish off the brilliantly spicy prawn tacos in a matter of seconds. The calamari is sensational, coated in a thin batter and fried to crispy perfection. We’re blown away with the crumb-fried lamb chops for mains. Pink on the inside and crusty outside, the juicy meat comes alongside a moderately spicy sauce with pomegranate. The grilled prawns are floating in a tasty chipotle garlic gravy and salsa macha. The churros here are undeniably the best we’ve tried in Doha.
The food is impeccable and the service is flawless. It’s a busy evening but the unusually good looking staff are on top of everything. It’s one of the best new spots in Doha and we’re going to end up here almost every weekend.
