We have the biggest and most exciting news for Doha foodies. For the first time ever, there will be a Portuguese Gastronomic Week (hurrah).
Catch the exciting epicurean journey to Portugal from Monday March 12 to Friday 16 at Four Seasons Hotel Doha and experience some truly authentic Portuguese and Portuguese -inspired culinary offerings. Chef Miguel Castro Silva (from the Time Out Market – Lisboa and famous for his ultimate Portuguese comfort foods) has designed a menu especially for this week.
Silva will present a tasting menu reflective of Portugal’s traditional fresh seafood fare, infused with his signature modern twist. An industry veteran, Silva operates seven restaurants in Portugal and has redefined the food scene there. Now, he brings his technique and culinary craftsmanship to Doha for the first time for all to enjoy.
Guests will also get to watch live musical performances by award-winning fado musician Maria Ana Bobone.
Here’s what the week will look like:
March 12-16 – Il Teatro
The exquisite seven-course tasting menu includes smoked mackerel on vegetables; almond Vichyssoise with smoked duck; sea bass with orange and fennel; cod in Pil Pil, potato, onion and egg; slow-braised rib with dry tomato risotto, sheep cheese mousse, cassis sorbet; and sponge cake with lemon curd.
March 15 – Barefoot Thursday
Two things – you’re going to eat some delicious creations and you’re going to be barefoot. The special menu features Mariscada stations, Portuguese salads and soups stations and authentic dessert stations with live music from Bobone.

March 16 – Friday Brunch
The Portuguese food corner will showcase fresh, signature flavours and dishes, including cod with tomato and chickpeas, fish roe with marinated peppers, tuna empanada with morrone peppers and goat’s cheese with artichoke.
