Tuck in to the Firefly Burger

Shereen D’Souza has found the perfect pick-me-up in the Firefly Burger

Tuck in to the Firefly Burger

Nobody likes Sundays. Fact. But what if we were to tell you there is something out there that will change your entire perspective on the start of the week? And what if that something included the ultimate helping of cheese?

If you’re of the persuasion that on a Sunday, only cheese will do, you need to head to Firefly Burger. Its blue cheeseburger is smothered in lashings of the melted fromage and is the perfect cure to the Sunday blues. The strong blue cheese flavour works brilliantly combined with Firefly’s aged beef patties and buns that are crafted exclusively for the restaurant.

The burgers are served in cool little wooden boxes with the restaurant’s name carved into them, which makes eating them feel a bit like you’re on a ranch in Texas – or that might just be us.

The caramelised onions and creamy mayo inside the bun are worthy of mention, too, because they’re absolutely delicious.

Now, if you think you could use more cheese (walk away if you just said no), order the cheese injection to really boost the flavours in your burger. Staff actually give you a (fake) syringe for this bit of DIY fun.

This burger is exactly the kind of pick-me-up you need on the first day of the week, even if it will take you the rest of it to work off. It’s pure comfort food and it does the trick. You’ll thank us when the calories have gone by Thursday…
