It’s light, it’s summery and it is absolutely perfect for this sweat-inducing season. We’re talking sushi, of course. We care about you and that’s why we’ve picked our five favourite rolls around town. Try them out and tell us we are not the best thing that’s happened to you this summer.
This delicious maki roll at Neo just gives us the summer feels. The combination of shrimp and crab, with sweet Japanese mayo sounds like a recipe for happiness. Let us also add that this roll is topped with tempura crunch and caviar. Enough said.

The name is an obvious giveaway but there’s much more to this roll. The thin slice of salmon that covers the roll is lightly cooked, shrimp tempura and cucumber is covered with a spicy, creamy mayonnaise, and everything we just said makes us want to go back and try this heaty, colourful roll again. Right now.

Crazy crab maki roll
We’re okay with non-authentic if deep-fried tastes this good. This roll is topped with crunchy tempura, shredded crab and a rich, spicy sauce. The shrimp inside is packed with flavor, as is the fried crab. You’ll thank us later.

Arabian Gulf tempura maki
Nobody does sushi rolls like Nozomi. There’s a reason they won Best Restaurant and the Arabian Gulf tempura maki, their signature sushi roll, is high on our must-try list. It is sweet and spicy, contains local fried shrimp and is garnished with mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce. Warning: you will most likely order two (or five) plates of this deliciousness.

If you’ve lived in Doha long enough, you already know how well W Doha does sushi. Everybody loves the spicy, shredded crab roll. But have you tried their California maki? Cooked crabstick and tempura on the inside and caviar on the outside? Yes, please.
