Time Out Says

If you’ve driven through Katara after the sun’s gone down, especially on weekends, you will have seen the queue of cars lining up seemingly in front of a shack. What they’re waiting for is this: karak, the sweet, fragrant tea that’s a national obsession. A bit like chai tea doused with sugar and condensed milk, they’ll bring it straight to your car, alongside a chapati if you’re hungry. No-frills means it’s paper cups and cheap prices, and there is a seating area next to the restaurant, but the most traditional way to partake is straight through your car window.
