Time Out Says

Al Shami is an institution in Doha, whether you pick the original restaurant or the section venue near Decoration Roundabout. The original has all the fun flair you’d expect: a dining room modelled after a traditional tent and tables full of people from all over the world. This is the spot if you want to rub shoulders with locals while eating some Lebanese and Syrian dishes. The hummus makes us want to swoon – preferably into a vat of more hummus. The service can be a bit slow, but it’s worth the wait: the dishes are plentiful, tasty, authentic and packed with flavour. The kofta is tender and delectable, and with a massive sprawling selection of meat dishes and hot and cold mezza, there’s something for everyone. Alas, the quality of the food on delivery can be a little iffy, but it’s still worth a call if catering for a party at home or craving something tasty for lunch.
