Time Out Says

There is a segment of our Lebanese friends that swears this is the spot if you want to pretend you’re in Beirut. Fantastic dishes in an unprepossessing local, it does feel incredibly authentic. The food makes us want to lick our plates, and our friends’ plates – and possible the plates of the people at the next table. The atmosphere is a bit odd, but in a fun way: it’s modelled after a ‘traditional’ wooden house, with curves and corners, false doors and windows, balconies and slightly frightening mannequins in traditional Qatari dress. While the mannequins may continually scare us as we catch glimpses over our shoulders, the mezza is tasty and fresh, and the meat dishes are tender and worth the scare.
