Things to do in Doha: Try a traditional boodle fight

Let’s be honest. We’re the biggest culture vultures in town and if there’s food involved, we’re going to be at the frontline.

Speaking of frontlines, there’s an exciting military style tradition that you can get a literal taste of in Doha tonight.

The popular boodle fight from Filipino culture is happening right here and you can be a part of this super fun age-old tradition.

Boodle fight refers to the military-style consumption of a meal. Everyone gathers around the table and diners practise kamayan (which means eating with hands) and all cutlery and dishes dispelled once you’re on the table.

Head over to Crossroads Kitchen at Marriott Marquis tonight for this unique experience.

A banana leaf will be spread out on the table and the chef’s signature choices will be loaded onto it with no cutlery whatsoever at this boodle fight.

You’ll get to enjoy a variety of crustacean specialities and plenty of Pinoy-inspired dishes.

All you need to do is show up in a group of four every Wednesday between 5pm and 11pm.

Not only do you get to experience a new tradition from a different culture, you also get to eat loads of food and that’s all we needed to hear to make a booking for tonight.
QR150 (including water). Wed 5pm-11pm. Crossroads Kitchen, Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel, West Bay (4419 5000).
