Doha's best Italian restaurants 2019

La Spiga
This archetypal Italian restaurant oozes charm and sophistication of the country. At night, it transforms into a stylish venue, perfect for a night out of socialising with good friends and even better food. The massive glittery oven in the kitchen is unmissable and everything that comes out of it is just perfect. With a reliable menu, fantastic service and a guaranteed overall fabulous experience, La Spiga is well deserving of its laurels.
W Doha Hotel & Residences, West Bay (4453 5135).

This authentic dining room serves homely and traditional Italian food. The red brick walls, tiled floor, humble furniture and street lamp-style lighting give the feeling of a trattoria in a small Italian square, run by a family. The pizzas and home-made pastas should not be missed.
Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel, West Bay (4419 6100).

Paper Moon Doha
With classic Hollywood prints in sepia adorning the walls and a beautiful yet rustic vibe in the restaurant, we are undeniably some of its most regular customers. The excellent food and flawless service are bonuses.
Jaidah Square (4016 6000).

Cicchetti is one of those quiet, elegant Italian restaurants that serve good food and don’t make a noise about it. The gnocchi here is the tastiest in town. The tangy tomato sauce and grated burrata on top are going to leave you craving for more (literally, because the portion is sadly way too small for our liking). The pizzas are good, too.
Al Shoumoukh Towers, Fereej Bin Mahmoud (4421 5000).

Di Capri
There’s lots to love about Di Capri. The service is on point and the restaurant is well decorated with glass jars and pasta displays at the entrance. We’re particularly happy with all the authentic options in the menu such as the classic Neapolitan pizza with boiled potato. If you’re ever craving a homely, comforting Italian meal, look no further.
La Cigale Hotel, Doha, Doha (4428 8698).

After a long day of shopping at Doha Festival City, there’s no better Italian option than Eataly. With an incredible burrata pizza, pesto pasta and tiramisu, you can not only curb your cravings, but do it at an incredibly relaxing pace. The fresh juices here are not to be missed and once you’re done with your meal, there’s an entire retail section for you to stock up on some authentic sauces and spices for your next meal at home.
Doha Festival City (4028 5055).

Italian Job
Straightforward Italian fare doesn’t do the trick for you? Then you’ll absolutely adore this restaurant that looks like an adorable trattoria, serves some top Italian dishes and combines the entire experience with singing waiters. And not obnoxious freaky clown-type singing waiters, just incredibly talented staff members wandering around singing ballads and hits ranging from country and western to pop. What’s not to love?
Radisson Blu Hotel Doha, Ramada Signal (4428 1555).

Jamie’s Italian
Jamie’s Italian is all about homely food in a rustic setting. There’s a cosy vibe with incandescent lights hanging from the ceiling, warm colours like teal and brown and marble table tops. We love the open kitchen here. It whips out simple but delicious dishes such as the truffle tagliatelle and the funghi misti pizza. And add to that the bragging rights from eating at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant.
Doha Festival City (4455 4812).

La Veranda
The outdoor views here are simply extraordinary and in the winter months, there are very few options that come close to the romantic experience you can have at La Veranda. The portions are large, the food is tasty and the service is on point. It’s one of those places you can’t stay away from for too long.
Sheraton Grand Doha, West Bay (4484 4444).
Lo Spaghetto
Lo Spaghetto has a nice contemporary setting with an, the idyllic little courtyard that is lush, green and surrounded by so much foliage that you’ll hardly believe you’re still in Doha. Evenings are rather romantic, when it’s softly lit by hanging lanterns. The food here is pure comfort and always feels like you’re eating a home-cooked meal.
Al Sadd (4434 1601).
