Do you miss your favourite Brazilian steakhouse, the one with photo ops with funky samba headgear? Because we do. Ipanema has been closed for a while and while we weren’t looking, the restaurant has undergone a fancy facelift.

The extensive renovation project has given us a brand new place to love with a fashionable colour scheme in dark oak tones, stylish new furniture, exposed artwork accent walls, expanded indoor seating and a refreshingly impressive setting.

The brand-new lounge area features an expanded beverage menu from several different regions in Brazil. And while you’re enjoying interesting new beverages, you can taste an extensive range of meats served by professional gauchos.

The entrance area is a lot more spacious now with easy access to the lounge. We also love the linear display of amber, grape and crystal coloured pendant lights giving a simple and original charm to the space.

Let’s talk food. Ipanema’s newest offerings including fire-roasted meats, seafood options, a salad bar (which we always love), soups and plenty of side dishes in a fun ambience. Chef Gabriela brings all these authentic flavours from her Brazilian heritage and you can expect some hearty and flavoursome food. Ipanema features traditional cuts of Brazilian barbecue along with a live
Latino band. You can enjoy more than ten cuts of meat including top sirloin, fillet, lamb and chicken. The buffet style continues but the new setting features side dishes like tropical mixed salads and seafood options as well as Brazilian specialities such as farofa, black beans, steamed rice, polenta, mashed potatoes and desserts.

Okay, all this talk about Ipanema is giving us major hunger pangs. So, while you dial that number to make your booking, we’re out of here and headed straight to the second floor of Marriott Marquis.
