Here’s a new reason to love Sabai Thai (not that we don’t already) – the restaurant has just launched a brand-new Asian menu in addition to its top Thai fare. With over ten new dishes carefully crafted by Sabai Thai chef Pawichada Thanaphibun, the most discerning diners are promised a flavourful experience from different Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Singapore.

Among the new dishes, some of our favourites are the Singaporean crab dumpling, the wagyu beef salad which is more about the wagyu and less about the salad (exactly how we like it), an incredible Indonesian beef rendang with a sauce that really hits the spicy spot, the five-spices duck roasted with, you guessed it, five spices and served with bokchoy and pickled ginger. There are summery appetisers that are loaded with colourful ingredients, too.

In addition, the interior design of the restaurant has been revamped and decorative elements have been incorporated to create a truly Asian themed atmophere at the venue. A new artistic and bold drawing has been added and it visually narrates a very interesting story. The artwork conveys the evolution of cooking experiences between two generations.

Additionally, a refurbished bar has been attached to the setup, allowing guests to enjoy refreshing beverages. Live entertainment is also now part of the ambience, giving it an overall vibrancy.

This new range of authentic Asian flavours is quite exciting. Chef Pawichada has a wide knowledge of Asian cuisine and has worked with some of the world’s top five-star hotels, so we know we’re in good hands.

There’s an adorable painting to go along with the Asian menu of a young journalist and her grandmother. Ask the staff for the story. And the best part of eating the Asian dishes here, if you start craving Thai, Sabai Thai still has the original menu – all you need to do is ask.
Open daily noon-3pm; 6.30pm-11pm. Sabai Thai, Westin Doha Resort and Spa, Bin Mahmoud (3359 8514).
