Five tea-infused dishes you have to try at TWG

Dining at TWG Tea Salon & Boutique in Mall of Qatar might sound like a simple task, but with more than 400 varieties of tea alone and an incredible French-Mediterranean-inspired menu featuring tea-infused sweet and savoury treats, it might be a daunting yet exciting experience.

Not that we want to come in the way of your hour-long fun menu-browsing time, but we’ve picked five of our absolute favourite items from the TWG food menu and all of them feature exotic tea infusions.

1 Beetroot and buratta salad
Not the most usual combination, but beetroot and buratta in a salad work together surprisingly well. The beetroot is infused with TWG’s Oriental Empire Tea and slow poached. This salad is a lot more filling than you’d expect with a nice salmon surprise, refreshing Japanese cucumbers and a delightful crunch from pomegranate seeds and wheat crisps. Everything is tossed together in an 1837 Black Tea-infused vinaigrette. It’s light yet filling and is an ideal option for a quick, healthy lunch.

2 Tiger prawn salad

This salad is easily our favourite and a summer afternoon go-to. It’s loaded with fantastic fruity and spicy flavours. Pan-seared tiger prawns are mixed with coleslaw in a spicy Oriental dressing and a garden salad. The stars of the salad are the pieces of strawberry, mango and grapefruit mixed in with the salad. The vinaigrette is infused with a strawberry flavoured tea from TWG.

3 Mediterranean red snapper
These are flavours you possibly never imagined would blend together with fish but this red snapper is marinated with Turkish spices and Moroccan mint tea powder and then roasted in a pan. What you get a delicious, soft and aromatic fish that goes brilliantly with the crushed chive potatoes, steamed snow peas, Holland asparagus. The dish is served with a Persian lemon sauce.

4 Eggs Benedict

Our favourite breakfast dish just got better. English muffins are topped with two poached eggs and served with a unique porcini Hollandaise sauce. For the accompaniment, you can choose between truffle mushroom duxelle, turkey ham or smoked salmon. A petite mesclun salad comes on the side, tossed in an 1837 Black Tea vinaigrette. Breakfast has never been tastier, for a while at least.

5 Mini lamb sliders
What’s special about these lamb sliders is each patty is marinated in Arabian spices and infused with Moroccan mint tea. Artisanal mini buns with roma tomatoes and lettuce in a pommery grain mustard mayonnaise envelop the tender and juicy lamb patties. A delicate green salad in house vinaigrette comes on the side.
