The Torch Doha hotel is introducing a specialised kiosk for this popular dessert

Doha's first dedicated Umm Ali kiosk to open soon

Let’s be honest. If you’re a true Doha-ite, your love for Umm Ali is no secret. We’re always on the hunt for the best Umm Ali in town (we’ve even discovered a few incredible ones) and if you’re one of us, get very excited for this piece of news.

A specialised Umm Ali kiosk named Dukkan is opening early next month next to The Torch Doha hotel. The kiosk will be right below the hotel entrance, approximately 30 sq m in size, and will offer traditional Umm Ali for dine-in or takeaway along with a variety of selected toppings.

The origins of Umm Ali can be traced back to Egypt and it’s already The Torch Doha’s bestselling dessert. Large numbers of the sugary goodness are ordered on a daily basis for catering, too.

Based on this popular demand, the hotel management decided to dedicate a kiosk to this moreish dessert to allow visitors and guests to easy access it via drive-through takeaway and the option of a casual setting for dine-in enthusiasts.

The dessert will be available in two sizes – individual portions and half kilo portions, along with a large variety of delicious toppings.

If your dessert buddy is not into Umm Ali, the kiosk will also offer homemade, freshly baked maamoul (date-filled cookies) along with a selection of carefully crafted Arabic desserts and drinks.

This kiosk is the first of its kind in the city and if you see us in the queue early March, come say hi.
Opening date to be confirmed (early March). The Torch Doha, Al Waab (4446 5600).
