Three new Doha restaurants to try this week

A stylish steakhouse, a celebrity chef-owned eatery and a brand-new Asian spot are the highlights of this month’s dining scene in Doha.

Doha’s ever-vibrant culinary universe always has something new and exciting and we’re currently obsessing over three incredible new restaurants. Three completely different joints in different locations around town have one thing in common – all are absolutely brilliant.

Pearl Social
Jason Atherton’s very first venture in Doha, Pearl Social, named after its location on the manmade island Pearl-Qatar, has made a grand entry on our shores. The Mediterranean-themed décor and glorious floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing some truly spectacular views are only a few things to look forward to. The menu features an exciting variety of contemporary and innovative fare that Atherton is renowned for with a specific focus on seafood. This restaurant is a big deal, dear readers. If you know, you know.

STK Doha
The much-awaited global restaurant chain STK has finally opened its doors to the public in Doha. Originally from New York City, STK offers a contemporary and upscale twist creating a high-energy dining and drinks venue with a focus on culinary excellence. It’s also possibly the first of its type in Doha that’s not all muscle. Enjoy some of the best cuts of beef, including fillets, tenderloin, rib-eye, T-bone, tomahawk and much more. There are burgers and braised beef short ribs being served up, too, with sides including parmesan truffle fries and mac ’n’ cheese. We won’t reveal too much, go on and try it already.
The Ritz-Carlton Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4484 8588).

Millenium Plaza Hotel has just opened Toshi, an Asian restaurant and we’re more than happy to be having tuna tartare right in the middle of Doha. The pan-Asian restaurant focuses mainly on Chinese, Japanese and Thai varieties and you can find everything from teppanyaki and shredded crab rolls to kung pao chicken and fried ice cream for dessert. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for a quiet or intimate dinner.
