Keeping active this Ramadan? Then it’s time to adjust your bicycle gears and sign up for this fun race at Al Shaqab.
Taking place on Friday April 14 between 3pm and 6pm, the race will cover one lap, shaped like a crescent (it’s called the Ramadan Crescent Fun Race for a reason), over an area of 4.7 km.
You will get to try your mettle on a mix of on and off-road tracks around the iconic Longines arena.
The route is completely car-free, but we cannot say the same about horses. The track will pass through a horse walking route, so keep your eyes and ears open, in case a stray steed comes trotting your way (just kidding).
Organised by the Qatar Cycling Federation, this is a family-friendly event. Bring along your whole family, bikers, and non-bikers, to enjoy a fun sunset away from the city noise, at the picturesque Al Shaqab.
The race kicks off at 4pm sharp, but make sure you are there by 3pm, for the route guidelines and safety briefing.
This is a fun race, open to all who have either a mountain bike or a cyclo-cross bike and know how to ride it. Helmets are mandatory for participation and for your own safety.
There are no participation fees, but there are limited slots, so if you don’t want to miss out, register right away by clicking here.
Good luck, and don’t forget to have fun.
Free (registration mandatory). Fri Apr 14 3pm-6pm. Al Rayyan, alshaqab.com (4454 1992).
