Anti-Valentine's day in Doha

Five venues in the Doha that are shunning Valentine's Day

Anti-Valentine's day in Doha

Valentine’s Day is a bit like Marmite, and if you fall on the side of hate, the thought of February 14 rolling around probably fills you with dread. You’re not alone. Luckily, there are some good old folks in the city who think that the day should mean discounts, DJ’s and themed menus for the less loved-up among us.

Hive Lounge

A DJ will be playing from 9pm until 2am and there will be a list of anti-Valentines-themed beverages to choose from.
Sun Feb 14, 9pm-2am. InterContinental Doha The City, West Bay (4015 8888).

Belgian Café

No dates are necessary to enjoy food from Belgian Café’s specially-created, anti-Valentine’s menu. Go with a group of friends, toast with some signature hops and listen to house.
Sun Feb 14, 7pm-2am. InterContinental Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4484 4954).

Antica Pesa Lounge

This year Valentine’s Day coincides with ladies’ night. The deal includes welcome bubbles, a menu of cheaper beverages and a DJ.
Sundays 8pm-2am. Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Qatar (4035 5300).

Strata Lounge

Who needs true love when you’ve got spectacular views over West Bay? The usual two-for-one deal is on until 10pm, and ladies arriving before 11.59pm get a free beverage.
Sun Feb 14, 6pm-midnight. InterContinental Doha The City, West Bay (4015 8888).

The Irish Harp

Celebrate at an anti-V Day shindig in the laid-back Irish pub. The price includes one beverage per person and a yellow rose for the women.
QR100 (men), free for ladies. 9am-2am. Sheraton Doha, West Bay (4485 3000).
