Doha has a vibrant jazz scene, with some of the best and most talented musicians on the globe, right here in the city. With Swing Week whetting the appetite, here’s where to get your permanent fix of jazz in the city
Jazz at Lincoln Center
St. Regis Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4446 0000).
A global partnership between St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and Jazz at Lincoln Center brought two New York icons together and the first jazz venue was born at The St. Regis Doha in 2012. This provides both the novice and aficionado the opportunity to experience world-class jazz, learn about its rich history and understand its cultural value in a modern, authentic and bespoke way.
New bands appear on average every 2-4 weeks. The majority of the bands come from New York and each is personally selected by Winston Marsalis, Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York).
So take the elevator to the fourth floor of St. Regis Doha and enjoy a buzzing, cosmopolitan atmosphere with smooth jazz every Monday-Saturday. There are also special monthly performances at Villaggio Mall, MIA Park and family-friendly jazz. This month, see Jazz at Lincoln Center perform at the MIA Park on March 18, 7-8pm and free entry, and listen to Family Jazz Talks on March 28 from 2pm-5pm at the St Regis.
