Qatar has announced a 50 percent discount on traffic fines, and you have three months to take advantage of the reduction.
You will be able to clear your pending traffic fines for less between Saturday December 18 and Thursday March 17, 2022.
The discount coincides with Qatar National Day, and applies regardless of any restrictions registered against the vehicle.
You can make payments through Metrash2, self-service kiosks and at traffic directorate counters.
The Metrash2 app is available on both iOS and Android, and you will need your QID to access it.
Qatar National Day is celebrated on December 18 every year, and marks the date in 1878 when Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani unified the tribes.
This year’s slogan is “Ancestral meadows: A matter of trust”, a reference to a poem by Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani, the founder of Qatar.
Traditionally, there is a fireworks show on the Corniche as well as other events across the city.
