Qatar increases wedding guest limit

Outdoor weddings can now have 120 attendees

Qatar has increased the number of guests who can attend weddings in the country, the Ministry of Public Health has announced.

Outdoor weddings can now be attended by up to 120 guests, while indoor weddings can accommodate up to 80 people.

The decision was made in accordance with public health indicators in Qatar.

Wedding guests will need to wear masks, maintain social distancing, and show their Ehteraz app status at any venues they visit.

In a statement, the Ministry of Public Health thanked citizens and residents “for their effective contribution and commends their efforts in responding to COVID-19, and their adherence to the preventive measures, which has helped to reduce the spread of the virus in the society and avoid new outbreaks”.

Qatar began lifting restrictions in June, with four phases of reopening announced.
