Everything you need to know about Qatar's second stage of phase four reopening

Qatar has been slowly easing restrictions over the past few months, and the second stage of phase four reopening started this week.

From September 15, the capacity of cinemas and theatres will be increased to 30 percent - up from 15 percent. Under 18 year olds are still not allowed to enter.

Gyms, health clubs and public swimming pools had their capacities increased to 50 percent from September 1, but this has been reduced again to 30 percent.

The change comes after new rules were introduced at gyms last week.

Gym goers now have to wear a mask at all times, and group classes are banned indefinitely.

Toilets and changing rooms have been closed, and all equipment will be cleaned at least every two hours.

All restrictions eased in phase four stage one will remain in place.

The Supreme Committee for Crisis said in a statement, “The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management thanks both citizens and residents for their critical contribution to the efforts aimed at combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) and their commitment to following preventive measures, which have helped to limit the spread of the virus in the community and contribute to a gradual decline in cases.

“With the gradual lifting of Coronavirus restrictions, the Committee stresses that it is necessary to continue adhering to these measures at all times, especially during the coming period which will see further lifting of restrictions.”
