Only four people allowed per vehicle, Qatar Ministry of Interior announces

Only four people are allowed to travel per vehicle including the driver, the Qatar Ministry of Interior has announced.

Families are exempt from the ruling, but all passengers must wear a face mask throughout the journey.

The Ministry of Interior shared the rule on its Twitter page.

The decision is part of preventive measures intended to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

Qatar is currently in phase three of reopening after lockdown, with gyms, pools and restaurants now open, and limited flights operating in and out of the country.

From September 1, even more restrictions will be eased, and you can keep up to date on all the latest information in our news section here
