Woqod is handing out free RFID fuel tags to Doha residents

With the current COVID-19 crisis around the world, Qatar is taking several preventive measures to combat the spread of the virus. WOQOD is now be providing free fuel tags for all vehicles and individual customers to encourage customers to stop using cash and cards for transactions at the fuel pump.

This will reduce contact between the driver who is making the payment and the fuel attendant who is receiving it.

The fuel tags are normally priced at QR220 each, however, until June 17, all Qatar residents with valid QIDs and Istimara (car registration) are eligible to collect one for free.

If you’re wondering how it works, the WOQODe tag (which comes with a built-in microchip) will be fixed near your fuel tank.

The tag carries all your car details and every time you fuel your vehicle, you get an automatic receipt with all details including time and location of your fuel purchase.

The fuel tags are available at 41 Woqod stations across Qatar.
