Try Zumba
Mon 9, Bay Club, InterContinental
We’ve been hearing a lot about Zumba, and we’re intrigued. Combining dance and aerobics with Latin music, rumour has it you can burn up to 1000 calories an hour. More importantly, we get to wear our leg warmers out in public again. Classes start on Jan 9 and run every Monday from 7pm-80pm, QR30 for members, QR40 for non-members.

Feel the beat
Fri 13-14 Wahm, W Doha
No need to fear Friday the 13th this month: DJ Klaus and Ameet ‘El Bongo’ hit Wahm, and as far as we know they didn’t bring any black cats or walk under any ladders to get here. Entrance is free, yet enough stroke of good luck for both shows, but reservations are highly recommended: you wouldn’t want your luck to run out before you even made it in the door.

Fly away
Fri 13, Al Khor airport Head into the wild blue yonder with an air show! The Al Khor airport is home to loads of private crafts, and for one day only it opens up for families to get an inside peek at the places. There will be tours of private aircrafts plus behind the scenes tours with the pilots, as well as air shows and a parachute show. We may not be prepared to jump, but we’ll watch those who are! And it’s even free.
