Everything you need to know about Al Messila, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Doha

This beautiful property is set amid an indigenous botanical oasis in Doha, an old mangrove forest. Al Messila Resort & Spa is the first Luxury Collection resort in Qatar and it offers lifestyle, wellness and epicurean excellence in a gated, private palace-style setting.

This modern resort has been designed to respect the area’s natural heritage and it’s one of the very few places in Doha where you’ll find lush greenery and native flora such as lawz-hindi, acacia, sidra and mimosa trees.

Thanks to its location, extended gardens and offerings, Al Messila is a true wellness resort. Al Messila Ladies Wellness Retreat within the resort is the most extensive wellness retreat in the region, dedicated to women. Featuring The Worlds, 26 treatments suites, indoor recreation and therapy pools, a gym across two floors, several fitness studios, the retreat spreads over 1,400 sq m of space exclusively for women’s health and wellbeing.

What to do
Enjoy the Grand Pool with signature sips from Wa’ha and DJ beats or experience an exclusive dining experience in the gardens at Snøull. Take a private cooking class with Michelin-starred executive chef Pino Lavarra or just sign up for a personal training session at the outdoor bootcamp and jogging path. And since you’re in a wellness facility, it might do you good to try the signature two-hour Wellbeing Therapy at the Ladies Wellness Retreat (for females only).

If you’re with family, the innovative Little Explorers’ Club is the first of its kind in Doha and just perfect for the little ones. Children can play and learn at this edutainment facility. There’s a gym with equipment suitable for kids, a cinema, an educational and interactive play zone, outdoor playground with interactive water fountains and a pool with hot-dip trampolines. Healthy and nutritional snack options are available throughout the day, too.

What to eat
The hotel has appointed top Italian Michelin-starred chef and cookbook author Pino Lavarra to oversee eight innovative culinary experiences inside the property. There’s a trailblazing Nordic concept Snøull by Michelin-starred chef Theis Brydegaard, inspired by the Scandinavian seasoned history of working with organic and honest ingredients. Veritas is a refined North Italian dining experience featuring traditional recipes and top flavours. Michelin-starred chef Stefano Ciotti brings a unqiue twist to all the classics. Deli Kitchen forges agricultural and healthy products in a unique concept, where you can taste international dishes while you shop and learn in the same spot. Wa’ha is a casual poolside dining experience, perfect for sundowners. Al’Amma’s contemporary Arabesque design makes it an ideal tea room for client meetings and informal business dealings.

Caravanserai by Carlos Henrique Capparelli orchestrates the concept of Maghreb Meets Doha, presenting the richness of North African cuisine from refined Moroccan tagines to Tunisian Harissa-spiced delicacies with a Middle Eastern touch.

Contemporary Greek estiatorio Siga-Siga serves authentic mezze and delectable grills prepared with honesty and simplicity.

Elixir mixes things up with experimental drinks concocted in a lab-style bar.

Where to stay
From pool-view rooms to royal suites, there are incredible accommodation options in this urban oasis. The villas are an experience, ranging from one to four bedrooms. They are elegant enclaves of modern Arabesque design and peace. Right in the middle of the resort’s botanical gardens, every villa boasts a private plunge pool and garden.
