Hello Kitty and Smurfs live shows Watch live action shows of these beloved characters this month, presented by QNTC and Alchemy Project. Our favourite blue creatures take stage at The Smurfs Save Spring from July 18 to 20. Hello Kitty Live Fashion and Friends is from July 25 to 27. New menu at Gahwetna We love this trendy Qatari restaurant for so many reasons. And now that a few new dishes have been introduced, all the more reason to go as soon as this weekend. Everything is unique, creatively presented and loaded with flavour. Just delicious. Medina Centrale (3329 0600).
Arabesque’s improved items This popular Arabic spot has a new and improved menu that includes items such as shakshukha, classic hummus with beef, grilled marinated lamb cubes, lahm sharhat, a delicious saffron cake and some beverages. We’re hooked. Porto Arabia (3309 8347).
Explore Al Najada Hotel Discover this charming hotel located right opposite Souq Waqif. Al Najada’s traditional, yet, contemporary design is worth looking at. There are more than 150 rooms if you fancy a staycation and some exciting restaurants to try out. Al Baraha is the all-day diner and Missan serves dessert only (exactly our kind of spot). There’s a cute little café, too, called Canela. And, if you really want to relax, the poolside is promising with its very own pool bar offering juices and light snacks. Pool pass freebie For the entire month of July, you can enjoy two-for-one pool access at the stunning new Alwadi Hotel Doha. The pool is temperature controlled, there’s a bar just next to it and ladies’ nights (with two free drinks and happy hours all night) is every Wednesday, 4pm-onwards. QR200. Open daily 6am-9pm. Chill at Monkey Tale Despite the scorching summer heat, our favourite beach escape is still accessible. You can literally chill at Monkey Tale with the newly fitted cooling system. The menu has also been revamped to include icy pitchers to cool you down. Homemade ice cream debuts this summer, too.
