This tiny spot in Al Hilal is all about sandwiches, sandwiches, and more sandwiches. But if you’re looking for a hearty breakfast, there’s just one you need to try — the egg sandwich. It’s unbelievably tasty, and unbelievably cheap at just QR3.50. People come from all over Doha just to get their fix, and you’ll soon be among them once you give it a try.

Baladna Restaurant
With all of Baladna Restaurant’s dairy products coming from the nearby farm just an hour out of the city, the food here is as fresh as it gets. Order the breakfast tray and you’ll get to try lots of the farm’s delicious offerings, like labneh, cheese and shakshuka. If you’re not a fan of heavy breakfasts, you can order à la carte, too, with options like kashtah with honey or foul.

Bayt Sharq
Located inside a heritage home dating back to 1925, Bayt Sharq is a must visit for anyone looking to learn more about Qatari culture thanks to its authentic fare (and the small museum inside). On the breakfast front, the trays here are a great way to try a little bit of everything. The Bayt Sharq breakfast is Qatari, with balaleet, fatayer lahem and nakhi, while the maalem option is a taste of the wider region, with falafel, foul, hummus and labneh. Either option makes for a brilliant breakfast in Doha.

Boho Social
No list of breakfasts in Doha would be complete without Boho Social. The Instagram-friendly spot in Katara Cultural Village has a gorgeous terrace with views out to the Arabian Gulf, and you can even enjoy it during the summer months when the outdoor area gets covered up. Breakfast-wise, expect all your standard international options like eggs benedict, avocado on toast and shakshuka, plus sweet treats like pancakes and waffles.

Eggspectation
Your expectations should be high on any visit to Eggspectation, which serves up some of the best breakfasts in Doha. The Canadian export is famed for its eggs benedict, with options including lobster, chicken or bacon bennys, but we’re also big fans of the French toast.

Evergreen Organics
So far, this list of top breakfasts in Doha has been pretty egg-centric. But for those who don’t like eggs, or are entirely plant-based, the city’s first 100 percent vegan café needs to be on your radar. Pay a morning visit and you’ll be able to dive into delicious açaí or granola bowls, French toast or a chickpea scramble that will ensure you don’t miss eggs at all.

Flat White Specialty Coffee
If you can’t get out of bed without a cup of joe, make a beeline for Flat White Specialty Coffee. The homegrown brand has proven so popular that there are now six branches dotted around the city, including our personal favourite at the Iconic 2022 building. Aside from excellent flat whites, the brunch menu includes mushrooms on toast, poached eggs in salsa roja, and blueberry ricotta pancakes. Our pick? London calling on London morning, with baked beans, mushrooms, and kimchi on sourdough, which will make your day even on the rare days the weather is wet and moody like in the UK.

Huqqa
While Huqqa might be better known as a late night spot that serves shisha, if you haven’t been here for breakfast, you’re missing out. The Turkish breakfast menu includes everything from sausages and pogaca pastries to grilled halloumi and fried eggplant salad, which sounds like the perfect way to spend your morning.

Famed Dubai-based chef Izu Ani’s eponymous restaurant in Doha is beloved among those with a sweet tooth, particularly as the breakfast menu is served daily between 9am and 3pm. The French toast, served with a berry jam, is one of the best in the city, but if you’re more of a fan of savoury flavours, opt for the eggs benedict with truffle.

Originally hailing from Australia, Jones the Grocer now has outlets all over the globe. In Doha, you can head to The Gate Mall to get your fix of pancakes, avocado on toast, or even a full English.

Karak Mqanes

Breakfast room Le Colonial is a good choice no matter what kind of food you’re in the mood for, with an international and Arabic buffet spread priced at QR130. Ordering à la carte? Go for the Belgian waffles topped with orange segments, which is best enjoyed from the outdoor terrace looking out towards Souq Waqif.

Mina Hotel Restaurant
Have breakfast at Mina Hotel Restaurant while you watch ships dock at the Old Doha Port. The entire area is a delight, with colourful buildings lining the waterway and the breakfast served up at the restaurant is delicious. There’s are set platters to choose from as well as individual items such as foul medamas, eggs done to your liking plus pancakes, granola bowls and an assortment of breads from the bakery.

Murano Lobby Lounge
Not only does Café Murano offer incredible views over the Marsa Malaz Kempinski’s pool and beach, it also serves up some of the best breakfasts in Doha. Their Breakfast@Kempinski menu features a tempting selection of morning favourites including freshly baked pastries and sumptuous savoury items.

Sugar and spice and all things nice is exactly what you’ll find at this eatery in Aspire Park – including plenty of fabulous breakfast options. While there are savoury options, like avocado on toast and omelettes, we head here for the sweet treats, like the corn flakes French toast and the pancakes.

The Brunchery
The word brunch seems to have lost all meaning across much of the city, but The Brunchery are putting breakfast back into the portmanteau. The menu is absolutely massive, with basically every pancake flavour and topping you could dream of, plus chicken and waffles, omelettes and avocado on toast. Doha, let’s make breakfast great again.

The Kitchen
Be warned, folks: The Kitchen is home to one of the most popular breakfasts in Doha, so if you want to get a seat here at the weekend, you’ll need to book in advance. Why is it so popular? Well, the poolside outdoor terrace is gorgeous, as is the indoor area when the summer weather gets too hot, and the menu includes all kinds of eggs, plus other classic dishes like oatmeal, pancakes, and French toast. It’s a recipe for success.
