What activities are available for families?
We offer kayaking tours in the mangrove forest in Al Thakira as well as Kayaking sessions at the Pearl and around the Museum of Islamic Art. We also create customised packages for birthday parties and special events where we can organise transport and catering as well as special kayaking session and water games for kids of different ages.
What specific activities are available for kids?
We are happy to offer a variety of outdoor experiences for kids ranging from age 10 to 18. From half-day kayak trips in the mangrove forest to multi-day camps on the beach, we can customise individual packages for different age groups. We have qualified guides and instructors that make sure that the kids are being well looked after and having the best time possible.
From what age range is kids kayaking suitable?
For kayaking tours and activities where an adult does not accompany the kids we require a minimum age of 10 years old. Otherwise, we take kids as young as three on kayaking tours if an adult accompanies them. We have kid’s life jackets for different ages and sizes and our guides are always close in case the parent needs help paddling.
Which activity is most popular at the moment?
The mangrove kayaking tours are the most popular at weekends. On weekdays, kayaking at the Pearl is getting very busy. This takes less time and it is a great activity to do in the evenings after work and school.
Do you provide all the equipment?
Yes, all equipment is provided as well as water and juice. Everybody receives a short kayaking lesson at the beginning and a guide accompanies all participants on the tour.
Do the kids have to be strong swimmers?
No, not at all. The kayaking tours don’t require participants to swim. Everybody is required to wear a life jacket and we have jackets for all sizes and ages.
How do you make sure that the kids are safe while kayaking?
Firstly we make it very clear that life jackets are absolutely mandatory and we check that they are clipped correctly. Also, at the beginning of the tour everyone goes through a kayaking lesson and a safety briefing. We have one guide per 10 kayakers and all guides have toeing ropes and are always there to help if someone is struggling. The trip leader always carries a first aid kit and has up-to-date first aid training, as well as a phone so that he can contact the Coast Guard at any time.
