Each month we highlight pets in need of forever homes. This month, one of the newest animal welfare organizations, Dogs in Doha joins our pages. Run by volunteers, they have oodles of puppies and dogs looking for their very own families.
Toni is a gorgeous three-year-old girl who is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She was born at the shelter in December 2009 and the volunteers think it’s about time she finally finds a home of her own. Fantastic with people, she loves the beach and is great with other dogs. She would like a home without cats but she does love company so would like a home where she can have lots of cuddles. She has a medium length coat that needs a weekly brush but it is not high maintenance. To meet Toni, please contact QAWS at 5539 6074 or visit www.facebook.com/qaws.org
Chance is about one-and-a-half years old saluki mix, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, RNATT tested (he is ready to travel) and de-wormed. He’s happy to sleep in a crate, good with other dogs and children, plays fetch, will sit on command, and is even good off leash and will stay close by. He must be kept inside and would not be good in an apartment. He needs regular exercise and is very fit - he has two 20 minute walks a day and runs on the beach three times a week. He is good while left with another dog while the current foster-mum is at work for seven hours every day. To meet Chance, please contact Dogs in Doha 6618 4924 or check them out on Facebook.
Your pets are part of the family. But how do you protect them in case they get lost? This new website, run by Qatar Veterinary Centre, can help. After your pet is microchipped, any vet in Qatar can access the site to register the microchip number. Completely free of charge, if your pet should get lost, it’s a database that will allow vets to help lost pets get home.
