In many parts of the world, it’s a festive tradition to jump into the sea on Christmas Day, no matter how cold it is.
Thankfully, Doha’s wonderful winter weather means we’re not exactly freezing if we choose to take a dip – and Banana Island is inviting you to do just that this year.
On Saturday December 25, the resort will be hosting a Christmas aquathlon, featuring a 2.5 km run, a 1 km swim, followed by another 2.5 km run.
If you want to take part, the entrance fee will set you back QR250 – which includes a snack after the race, and a finishers medal.
Better still, you’ll also get to use the island’s facilities, meaning you’ll get to spend your day catching a tan on the gorgeous sandy shores.
