If you were ever of the opinion that shopping is good exercise, Doha Festival City and Hamad Medical Corporation’s new partnership makes a solid case in point. Visitors to Doha Festival City can go to the Kulluna for a Healthy Heart roadshow every day during the week, where expert doctors will offer screenings for any hidden heart issues, as well as offer advice and guidance on how to improve and maintain a healthy heart.
Kulluna for a Healthy Heart seeks to help people understand and be aware of the small changes they can, and should, make to experience positive effects on their heart health. Heart disease is one of the biggest health issues in the country and Doha Festival City is supporting non-profit healthcare provider, Hamad Medical Corporation, as part of a drive to increase awareness of the disease and promote a healthy lifestyle. The pop-up clinic will offer tests for cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar levels and Basal Metabolic Index (BMI) free of charge.
The word “Kulluna”, is Arabic for “all of us” and it is being used for this campaign in the belief that everyone can take action to improve their own health and wellbeing, as well as that of their family and the community in general.
Doha Festival City hopes that this pop-up clinic encourages as many people as possible to take part in the complimentary testing by providing an easy-to-access place where anyone can visit.
With all those burgers you’ve been eating, it might be a good idea to make best use of this opportunity to check yourself without burning a hole in your pocket.
Free. Daily 10am-10pm. Until Feb 27. Cloud Node, Doha Festival City, www.festivalcitydoha.com.
