The Barber Shop in Doha tested

The Promise
If your hands need a little love, then The Barber Shop’s Express Manicure is a quick, easy way of tidying them up with a speedy clip, file, buff and moisturise.

Step by Step
We are first shown to an unbelievably comfortable armchair where our manicurist, Rona, walks us through what the manicure includes and asks whether we have any specific requests. Our nails are filed and clipped before being soaked. The usual manicuring process is followed, and particular attention is paid to pushing back and trimming our cuticles. It ends with a hand massage, using refreshing citrus-scented oils.

The Result
Our hands feel properly clean and smooth, and look refined. We’re also surprised to find that the treatment has had quite a relaxing effect – we could easily have sat through 25 more minutes.

It’s as speedy as the name suggests. Perfect if you’re short on time; you could even stop by during a lunch hour. The staff are all clearly experienced and the detailed information they provide is useful for first-timers.

Its main pro can also be a con: it seems to end just as you’ve started to enjoy it. If you have the time, it’s worth opting for the longer Citrus Spa Manicure, which lasts around 45 minutes.
