Qube

Very lively nightspot with dancing and a pumping sound system

Time Out Says

While Doha does many things well, it’s not the strongest on after-hours entertainment. Nightspots generally fall into two categories: menacing or endearingly barmy. Qube belongs in the latter camp, balancing its unreconstructed naffness with an unhinged dose of good cheer that makes it just about tolerable. The cavernous downstairs area is regularly packed with table-loads of Filipinos chattering excitedly, although how they can hear themselves over the deafening racket made by their stonewash denim-clad compatriots in the band is anyone’s guess.

It goes without saying there are dance moves to match. Upstairs, it’s slightly more genteel, although the din of Tina Turner being hauled mercilessly through the mangle means that you’ll likely leave with a sore throat from shouting and being shouted at. There’s no reason to linger, or indeed to go, but you’d have to be a complete killjoy to deny Qube its air of big-hearted bonhomie.
